Catherine Dormor of Cambridge, England, came to textiles through ecclesiastical embroidery, now working in sculpture and installation.  She often uses photography, incorporating her images into textile pieces.  Her inspiration stems mainly from everyday observations and theoretical and language-based texts/thinking.

Catherine came over from the UK for the Festival 2012 opening in Oakville and also attended the exhibition opening at the Canadian Sculpture Centre.  It was wonderful to have Catherine along with many other local and international artists attend the festival.
